Benigno was born on 21 Jun 1917 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He died 1 on 29 Feb 1996 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was buried on 2 Mar 1996 in Cementerio Parque Británico, P. Nogués, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Benigno was the Commander in Chief of the Argentine Navy from 1966 to 1968 and, as such, a member of the military Junta that governed the country from 21 June 1966 until his retirement from the Navy. He was subsequently the Argentine Ambassador to Belgium and a naval surveyor. Disgusted with the corruption then rampant in his beloved Navy and the atrocities committed during the military government of 1976-1983, he dedicated his last years to his family and naval research. He died in Buenos Aires, and was laid to rest at the cemetery Parque Británico in Pablo Nogués, BA, Argentina. The compiler was fortunate to have had a long acquaintance with Ignacio, as he was called in family circles, and cannot think of a more honorable, honest and loyal man. Graciela survived him seven years and died at her home after a long illness, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
